Medical Coder - Remote | WFH
Key Responsibilities
Accurately audit and code daily Evaluation & Management (E&M) visits...
Extract and interpret information from operative reports, transcriptions, and other documents to assign the correct CPT codes, modifiers, and ICD-10 codes for billing.
Provide coding and billing education and constructive feedback to healthcare providers.
Research, correct, and resubmit denied claims, and handle appeals as necessary.
Stay up-to-date with standard and unique payer policies and procedures.
Maintain a coding accuracy rate of at least 90%.
Qualifications
Perform other duties as required.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to self-educate and stay current with coding practices.
Strong customer service, communication, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
Certification from AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, CCS-P) required.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Medical Coding Experience.
Experience with asthma, allergy, and colorectal surgery coding is a plus.
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
Sedentary work with occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
Repetitive motion associated with operating a computer and other office equipment.
Work is performed in a climate-controlled, indoor environment.
